I think it’s important to note for the record that in spite of all her big talk of support for SUSD, Virginia Korte actually made the first motion: to authorize the give away of valuable city right-of-way for no compensation to a privately-owned business for construction of the Basis campus…a subsidy to a direct competitor to SUSD schools. Korte has made a calculated choice that Basis business owners and customers make better campaign contributors than SUSD families.
I hope you’ll all remember that Korte is up for re-election this fall.
Scottsdale City Council voted in favor of a new proposed charter school plan by BASIS Schools Inc., Feb. 23, rendering a vote on the controversial plot of land on the southwest corner of 128th Street and Shea Boulevard.
