Scottsdale Mayor (and incumbent candidate) Jim Lane benefited from a little of the Fiesta Bowl guacamole.
The Associated Press is reporting that Senate Bill 1516 eliminated criminal punishments for shady characters like those who ran the Fiesta Bowl, the people who quietly ply our leaders with freebies and illegal campaign contributions designed to get around pesky things like the law and public disclosure.
The bill also allows our leaders, once elected, to give up to $6,250 in campaign contributions to each other. That’s handy for not only for buying your colleagues vote for a bill or a leadership position, it also serves as yet another way for contributors to launder money.
But wait, we’re not done…
