I am very sad to hear of the death of Carolyn Allen. She and I had a couple of very frank and personal conversations, including the untimely death of her son who would have been about my age, and our disagreement on her unconditional support for taxpayer subsidies to the business formerly known as the Scottsdale Cultural Council.
Regardless of the pain and the disagreement, she was a lady and I’m glad to have known her the little bit that I did. And I’m sorry I didn’t know she was in such bad condition. She never seemed to be as old or as frail as she must have been, and I’m sure a lot of people will be surprised at learning of her passing.
